Storage Temperature: Recommended storage temperature is 0 °C – 0.5 °C.

High Humidity: Select an air-cooler with a low air–product temperature differential (ΔT).

Storage Duration: Recommended storage time is up to 3 months under conventional conditions.

Controlled Atmosphere: Recommended for large volumes. Gas composition: 3–5 % O₂ + 5–8 % CO₂, which can extend storage life from 3 to 5 months.

Ozone: Install an ozone generator with sufficient capacity to combat microbial load.

Ventilation: Install a digitally controlled ventilation mechanism to manage gas exchange in the chamber.

Air Recirculation: Use inverter-driven fans with digital control for 24-hour air circulation and uniform temperature throughout the chamber.

Ethylene Removal: Use an ethylene burner or absorption system.

Dynamic Cooling: Multi-point monitoring and regulation of ideal preservation parameters across the entire chamber volume, operating continuously 24 h/day.

IMPORTANT TIPS
  • Rapid pre-cooling before commercial dispatch and maintenance of the cold chain throughout all handling stages.
  • Uniform temperature inside storage chambers is critical — Dynamic Cooling is strongly recommended.
  • Cooling should be achieved with low-velocity air movement.
  • Ethylene removal is essential.
  • Maintain moderate CO₂ levels (5–8 %) — helps preserve quality. Levels above 10 % may cause flavour deterioration.
  • Harvest persimmons unripe with flesh firmness > 3 kg force and soluble solids < 18 °Brix (e.g., Fuyu variety).
  • Ripening of unripe persimmons can be achieved at 20 °C with 5 ppm ethylene for 3 days.
  • Disinfect cold-storage chambers before use.
